Improve Orbit While Editing Toposolid

Improve Orbit While Editing Toposolid

Can we make 3D view navigation automatically reset the pivot point to the centroid of the selected points when modifying a toposolid? Right now, I have to open the Full Navigation Wheel to manually reset the pivot, or exit the edit mode just to select a new part of the model to act as the new pivot.

In regular 3D views, selecting an element updates the pivot point and I think toposolid editing should behave the same way. It would make navigating around the active points much easier, and would prevent the disorienting shift that happens when orbiting after the original pivot point is forgotten.

Update: After more testing, I realized that even manually resetting the pivot with the Full Navigation Wheel or by selecting an element in the model doesn’t solve the issue. As soon as you select any point while editing the toposolid, the pivot automatically snaps back to the centroid of the entire toposolid. This means there’s currently no way to orbit around the specific points you’re working on as far as I can tell.
