The latest update Building Design Suite does not show the local files. I have read all the arguments to start a new one, I'm not wanting to argue. Could the local file copy be put back on home page, or at least the option to show them.

We have had no problem here at our office. If someone working on a project with multiple people can’t remember to sync then that is a problem for the employer not Autodesk. I see no confusion. We create a folder with project number, then department then a folder called Central, then a folder called Local. It has worked for years and have been using this system and product since 2009. That’s 10 years. I completely disagree. We ought to at least have the option of showing the local file.
I agree with @dplumb_BWBR , we are a fan of hiding the local files as well and wish it was even more hidden (so that the local files are a background process that the users don't even have to think about).
I don't understand, if i sync before I get out of my local file, then sync before I start working again, how can I be working with a file that's not up to date? If someone doesn't relinquish, it won't let me do anything on the area they were working on, whether I start a new local or not, or that was my experience with a situation recently.

Are you saying you've got a folder named "Local" on your network drive? Under a folder named "Central"?
That almost completely negates the purpose and advantage of the Local File concept.
The original purpose of the Local was so that you would be working locally on your computer's hard drive, and eliminate much of the network traffic. If a Local is stored on the network, it's going to slow things down considerably.
