Fusion 360 parameters to Revit

Fusion 360 parameters to Revit

It could be incredibly beneficial to link in a Fusion 360 model into a Revit family.

For example, if you have a particular mechanical equipment--say a pump or a mixer that was provided by a manufacturer.  Say that it was created in Fusion 360/Inventor/Solidworks (really whatever file format that we can consume from Fusion 360).  We might typically try to reduce some of the detail in Fusion and then export it to .sat and import it into Revit.  Some of the swept and cylindrical shapes won't come in, so we'll have to work around those too.

So I guess what I'm looking for would be for some better integration between the Revit family and the manufacturing design world.  I know there's a tool to export a Revit family from Inventor that is average at best, but I'd like to see something that can enhance this workflow.  Certainly, this is something that could transcend to other disciplines as well.

Considering this was a request from 2017, I might be beating a dead horse.  There should be a workflow from Fusion to Revit for families.  Inventor can already put out an RFA file, so Fusion should not be far behind.  Anyone that builds families knows it's a pain to work with parameters, extrusions, reference planes, and voids in Revit.  Honestly the family build environment in Revit should be no different than Fusion, or it should just take you to Fusion. In Revit when making an extrusion, you first have to draw out your lines(boarders).  Well, that is just the sketch environment in Fusion.  Even making the family parametric is no different than Fusions "change parameters".  Revit Types, that is Fusion configurations!  Obviously, there are some kinks to work out, but simply it's easier to model in Fusion, and Revit constraints blow up too easily.  Revit also needs to lose the Shared parameters.  Regular parameters should be able to pull into any schedule, tag, etc.
