Right now you have to choose between using a View Template (which we don't use anyway), or the "Filter by sheet" checkbox (which I also haven't had the need for recently, but I remember there was at least one time I wanted it). To me it's a no-brainer (because you can just put the same schedule on multiple sheets anyway), and you can even control column widths differently on each sheet (which I didn't know you could do until now)!
But seriously, Autodesk, this is a consistency thing - the View Template dialog should be the same as the V/G dialog!
It is possible to select the "Filter by Sheet" option in the schedule dialog. However, when creating the View Template, this option is not visible. It should be visible, or at least grayed out, so users are aware of the filter settings since they do affect the template. Additionally, I expected that changes to the View Template, specifically the "Filter by Sheet" option, could be made in the Manage View Templates dialog, but this is not possible.
