Family - Edit as New

Hello,

I'd like the ability to right-click on a Family in the Family Browser and have the option Edit as New.

This would be the same as Edit, but it would give it a temporary name. This would allow the user to make changes to the family (or use the older version as a jumping off point) and then load in the new family without saving it first. 

Right now my process is Edit. Go back to project, rename the family with an A suffix, then tab back to the new Family, make changes, load in. Rename new Family. remove the Suffix to the old family.

I do this because sometimes I don't know what I'd like to name the new family, and I don't want a bunch of family files on my desktop that I later need to delete.

 I like the idea, and voted for it.

 For your current process though, it may be slightly faster to Edit, make changes, save family with a name (any name), then rename it whenever you have your desired name settled. And if you definitely know you don't want to keep the temp saves, you can tell Revit to save these families to the Recycle Bin, then right-click Empty the bin whenever you get around to it.
