Excluded or "Boolean" scope boxes

Excluded or "Boolean" scope boxes

I just ran into an occasion that it would be helpful to be able to have some view settings to "boolean" the scope boxes.

For instance, I have a nested scope box defining portions of the scope of a project (say I have a "shell" scope boxes and I have various "bathroom" scope boxes) and had the need to show a 3D view of the "Shell" but EXCLUDING that which fell within the scope boxes of the "Bathrooms."

I am doing this for linked models and others that I don't have an easy ability to change or request the change to utilize a more standard workflow like worksets.

@calexander_PCO, so what you'd like, if I'm understanding correctly, is to be able to not only be able to turn off the visibility of the "bathroom" scope boxes (like with a filter or something, which would be great) but in addition actually be able to hide any elements within that scope box area?   That's an interesting idea.

A couple things I'm thinking about is #1. we need the ability for non-rectangular scope boxes and #2. generally my scope boxes are slightly larger than the area I'm scoping...  so it would it cut off walls, elements, etc. from slightly around the actual "bathrooms" also?  Or would it only cut those items completely within the scope box?  That would be one way to do that I guess.
