Enable 3-Point Work Plane Creation for Inclined Geometry in Revit (Like in Robot)

Enable 3-Point Work Plane Creation for Inclined Geometry in Revit (Like in Robot)

Currently, Revit limits custom work plane creation to selecting existing physical elements or predefined
levels. This is restrictive especially in analytical modeling where elements like inclined panels or members
often need to reference non-existent or virtual planes.

Introduce the ability to create a work plane by selecting three points in space or by entering coordinates-
similar to the functionality in Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis.

This feature would allow users to model inclined analytical geometry more accurately and efficiently, without
the need to rely on placeholder physical elements just to define a reference plane.

Technically you could do this using an adaptive component with 3 placement points that create the plane.

Just makes it a little more tedious as you need to place the component first.

It would be nice if you could have the option in Revit by default to "specify plane by 3 points".

but what I meant by 3 points is to make them in different level (like in spacial coordination )

That family is exactly that. The 3 adaptive points can be placed anywhere.

When you bring the family into the project and place it, you need to click for all 3 points which can be snapped to elements.

You can make it more controllable by using some parameters to locate the points as well on the xyz axii.

in the analytical mode when creating the panel element, we need to make them placed as coordinate input like the image in the 1st topic
or at least let me snap point from existing element but let me do it in different level, like create workplane buy adding point anywhere in the project
