Dynamo paste at mouse cursor

Dynamo paste at mouse cursor

Currently when you use ctrl-c, ctrl-v to copy nodes in Dynamo the copies end up next to their original which I hardly ever find beneficial. The idea would be to past at the mouse cursor's location instead. If you hold down shift while pasting you may even get a naked node without umbilical cords.

Hi, @MichaelWolff ,

I would encourage you to post this Idea on the Dynamo roadmap site. There is a link there to submit Ideas related to Dynamo.

Then my next 'idea' would be to provide a link to that forum on your Autodesk forums/community page. Maybe next to the ACC forum.

And that you need to register your email address again on that site is quite absurd.

But Dynamo isn't an Autodesk Product so why wouldn't you have to create a new account for a whole new company?

@BIMBenHL Well it says this at the bottom right of that dynamo road map site

Also Dynamo features with its own column here https://trello.com/b/ldRXK9Gw/revit-public-roadmap

@MichaelWolff Dynamo is an open-source project that is managed and stewarded by Autodesk! We use the Autodesk log-ins for the Forum and the Roadmap is hosted by a 3rd party tool we use called ProductBoard, hence the need to log in again.

We understand the frustration of having to log-in again, but this system does have the added benefit of directly porting your requests into the same location we build our Roadmaps... so purely by being adjacent things are aligning more than they have in the past (Where we typically did sweeps of ideas at quarterly cadences). Each idea has to be stacked against the backlog of work and prior ideas from the community, but we do take them very seriously and try to slot them in when we can.

The Trello roadmap has been superseded by the ProductBoard one that is now directly linked from the Dynamo Forum:

@sol.amour I have entered my idea over on that other forum that is not yours. Despite of that do you have any idea on how to browse ideas dispatched there. The browse functionality does not show any idea-like entry at all.

@sol.amour @kimberly.fuhrman @BIMBenHL I just registered that filing a new idea offers tenants the category 'dynamo' as a valid choice. If the Revit ideas forum is not the way to offer feedback on dynamo then maybe this option should be removed?

@MichaelWolff , it really depends on the ask. Some things are controlled on the Revit-integration side, and some things are strictly on the Dynamo side.
