Currently, UnPlaced Rooms can be re-placed onto plans from a drop-down list on the Options Bar.
The problems with this process is that the list only contains the Room Numbers followed by the Room Name.
That makes it difficult to a.) figure out which similarly-named room is which b.) often scroll way down the list. and c.) impossible to idenitfy rooms by other parameters.
I propose placing Rooms by dragging them from a Schedule onto a Plan.
With this technique, yoyu could arrange one or more Plan Views and a Schedule View next to each other and just drag Rooms from the Schedul to the Plan.
This would have several advantages over the current system:
- The Schedule could be sorted and filtered any way you wanted
- You would be able to see other parameters (for instance Department) before placing the Room.
- Would avoid a lot of clicks
