Door Schedule "Room from" and Room to"

Door Schedule "Room from" and Room to"

So the "Room from" and "Room to" would be a bit more useful if there was a way to control the parameters. Perhaps if doors had an additional symbol that drove those and could be toggled (like the door flip). If not that maybe a relational parameter between adjacent room?

It would really be nice to control those parameters other than by the original inserted swing direction.

For me it would automate "Keyside room number" (which would be the room from parameter) in my door schedules. Manual is such a pain in the butt when the number of doors is substantial. I'll use the workaround of setting swings to accommodate my schedule and then switch the swing later if needed.

You could add a room calculation point and switch this per family, according to your needs.

Thank you for the comment. I'd somewhat forgotten this issue.

What I've now done is created copies of doors flagging the "room calculation point" on. One door name is appended with "keyed from" and the other with "keyed too". Then I edit the two families "to/from" icon to point to the direction the keys should be on. The door schedule now automatically labels the "key side room number" (blank in the case of exterior which can easily be addressed in my door schedule notes) using the "To Room: Number" field.

This work great while still maintaining the flexibility of the parameter. Creating the duplicate doors is simple and an easy step.

Again THANK YOU!
