Dimensions from Fabrication parts from the outer edge.

Revit will only allow dimensions to be placed on the center line of Fabrication containment parts.

This isn't the way cable trays, ladders & baskets are set out on a working drawing.

Dimensions need to be from the outer edge, not the center (native cable trays within Revit allow this).

So we like to be able to place dimension from the outer edge.

1. Fabrication containment part. only dimensions possible from the center of the Ladder or Cable Tray.
2. native cable tray with dimension from the edge.

Het is ook zo dat in een doorsnede alleen het hard van de goot kan bematen terwijl we ook altijd o.k. goot en b.k. willen bematen op tekening.

Dat dit nu niet kan is bijzonder irritant.

Yes,  I am in total agreement.  Obvs the way to get around this is to draw additional detail lines,  I'm sure that you know this.

I'm working on a particularly intricate project and am using many 3D views.  I love the ability to be able to dimension these views as they really bring the drawings to life and describe areas that would otherwise be difficult using plan and section views alone.  A dimension to the centre-line of pipework is fine but CMS is a different matter. Please include the ability to dimension to the outside planes of an object Autodesk....
