Defining dimensions by existing parameters.

Defining dimensions by existing parameters.

It would be very useful if it was possible to define a dimension by existing parameters. Currently it is needed to define a parameter for every dimension. This causes many parameter definitions.

So you're saying to be able to create the formula right in the dimension...  I think I get it now that I've seen the image.  I'd suggest modifying your text a little, might get a little more traction since we can't see the image in the list of ideas that appears, could help your cause.  Otherwise very interesting idea.  I don't find myself needing that a lot, but could be helpful.

@halukuzuner , Thank you for your Idea!

Technically, the functionality is available using Global Parameters. The same Global Parameter can be applied to multiple dimensions. The only difference is that the formula does not show directly on the dimension line as in your image. Is this the specific functionality you are looking for?

@kimberly_fuhrman-jones unless @halukuzuner is referring to inside of families.

Hi Kimberly,

The way you are describing is not thing I want. In example above I just want to describe parameters "Width", "Length" and "Bend Radius". Other distances can be set directly on dimension line without defining additional parameters..

As @Ric_Weber mentioned I am writing about family parameters and dimensioning.

@halukuzuner , @Ric_Weber ,

Thank you for the additional clarification!
