This is something I've wished for since we started using Revit. An "oval-ish" or "pill-shaped" option (two semi-circles connected by straight lines) would be AWESOME! (preferably having the line stop at the edge, instead of continuing to the center the way it does with an Open Dot). We use one in AutoCAD, but in Revit I'm stuck with two "grab" (circle) styles - one that often looks too big, one that's sometimes too small (an oval/pill-shaped arrowhead could grab multiple lines without looking too huge). I've considered using a Loop, but it's doesn't look quite right... (see also my post in the previous archived idea)

@Anonymous You have to actually click the "VOTE" icon (comments to the idea don't really count).

Multiple leader lines with different arrowheads. Also Custom Arrowheads.

Custom arrow heads and not just for leaders. We need the ability to terminate any drafting line with an arrow at either/both ends. We also need to ability to control the arrow's weight.

Perhaps a Revit way to do it would be to make arrow heads into a use editable family. This way we'd be able to design our own.

Custom Arrowheads is here:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-ideas/custom-leader-arrowhead/idi-p/7092433

so this Idea should just be for the different arrowheads for each leader idea. We would often call out rebar (in AutoCAD) with an arrow to "cut" rebar (dots) and a grab (we have to use a circle in Revit) to rebar lines. In Revit, our workaround has been to draw a centerline through a cut bar so we can grab that (and the lines) without having to make a separate text element.

I have a customer also hope we can make the Arrow heads from System family to Loadable family, for custom modification.

And add the Tick Mark Size parameter of Arrow heads like Tick Mark Line Weight to the Dimension, thanks.

Please make it possible to further customize home run wires by adding an option to change individual arrowheads (see image below for an example). Also, please make it possible to add a custom family to the arrowheads, if possible.

Please Autodesk, give us adjustable leaders and arrow heads!

Yes! I'm currently working on the Louis Kahn Salk Institute Project and it would be great to have the exact documentation style.arrowheads.PNG

Customizable leader heads please. More customization for everything so we can set how we would like our drawings to look overall.

I have been asking for this for years!

Absolutely this capacity should be made available. A convention that I have used for years is to use a 'paddle end' leader with a thickened line at the end, adjustable in length to delineate the start and end of a list of materials comprising an assembly. It's a great way to do it, and with the money my company pays for the software license, I would like to see a general philosophy of serving the end-users needs. In these threads I see a lot of Revit apologists defending it's shortcomings. 'Go use Autocad' or 'Its not the way you think it should be'. The thing is - a great software should  behave the way think it should be. It's called being intuitive and that's a good thing. It's about respecting a veteran professionals input and responding.

How does somebody vote for this? This is a major shortcoming of Revit. They're trying to force their "object model"- centric business model on everybody when the gold standard of the Architectural/ MEP/ Construction industry was, is, and always will be a legal document on paper. (You cannot take an object model to court to prove what you signed and sealed.) Leaders should be customizable to comply with a business' office standards, and independent of drawing entities, so we can make BOTH ends connect where we want them to. Jeez, it's not like the software costs a small fortune these days, is it? Is it a "step up" from AutoCAD or not?

@_camuz_ I don't see anything in your example above that can't currently be done using Revit (just see closed arrow and open dot)

@vadehart By "paddle", do you mean filled? Do you have an example to share? If a filled/thick line (with round ends) will do, try using a "Heavy end tick mark". It sounds like you want something adjustable on the fly, but if you create several lengths it might get you close to what you want... Otherwise, the only un-filled shapes are circles, triangles, squares, and half-ovals...

@WallacePrince You can just click on the "Vote" button in the OP above, not that Autodesk will listen... 😉

@lionel.kai ??? I guess for you an open arrow is the same everytime. But if you have attention to detail, you would notice the angle in the shape of the arrow can’t be made similar to the example posted. Plus if you’d like to further design your annotations then this is one of the main symbols for an office standard.

@_camuz_oops. I hasn't noticed that the max value for "Arrow Width Angle" is 90°... so close, yet so far. 😞R2018 - max Arrow Width Angle.png

I use all  of these in AutoCAD on a vert regular basis.  It's important that the leader line not extend through the oval or circle.

Please add a custom arrowhead option for Revit.
