Copy-Paste elements between files with Insertion Point (Autocad style)

Copy-Paste elements between files with Insertion Point (Autocad style)

I need to copy a bunch of elements between two projects and i want to insert them in a specified point. In Autocad we can do this by Ctrl+Shift+C and Ctrl+V. It doesn't seem to work in Revit. I can link the other Revit file and bind the elements, but their position is way off and it takes long time to get them in the position i need them to be. Even when i use Shared Coordinates it doesn't work right.

For this I would suggest creating it as a group and then adjusting the basepoint of the group to past it then CRTL+C, and CRTL+V.  The paste is based on that point.

@Anonymous: Your ideea works indeed. I use this method instead of loading families from dozen folders. It seems quicker somehow. Especially when you work on several projects at once and use similar elements/families. I can group beams, columns, foundations, etc and directly copy them between projects.

It works great because it copies rebars inside concrete elements too! Great work saver, instead of modeling all rebars again in a new project, i just copy the concrete element(s) and just modify the reinforcement , if necessary. So much easier than Autocad!
