Channel and angle plan symbol & Bounding box

Channel and angle plan symbol & Bounding box

plan view.png

Basically, when we add a channel or angle in plan, we indicate the toe direction with a annotation symbol, pretty standard I think. Would be nice to include this symbolic representation in the framing family itself. Problem is that in 1/8 and 1/16 scale, these symbols need to be bigger than the flange so you can see them, which adjusts the bounding box for the element.

Consequently anything that then connects to the beam sets itself at the bounding box and away from the beam

Please allow elements in the family to be excluded from the bounding box of the element or... allow for the bounding box to be manually controlled in the family.

While this post is for the symbolic symbols of beams. It could be extended to Columns also.

the clip above is from the bounding box help topic. the corbels from the column really shouldn't be defining the bounding box. The bounding box should still be at the column because beams sitting on the corbels would still extend to the edge of the column, not the outside of the corbel. If the beams can be fixed with this functionality, perhaps columns can be adapted also for things like embedded base plates and corbels etc.

Thanks!
