Using model in place under ceiling category or wall is not an optimal solution to model ceiling bulkhead. I think it's about time now to add the bulkhead as a system family, just like slab edges and roof elements.
You don't need to do it as in place model. Just do it the way it would be done in real life: build a short wall and then another ceiling underneath it. It's really not all that onerous and it is a very flexible solution.
As a bonus your bulkhead walls and ceilings will schedule correctly and you can also tag them correctly.
