Callout offset parameter

Callout offset parameter

For documentation, sometimes we don't want a callout exactly like the crop view size... we want it larger for representation purposes. It would be great to have an offset parameter for callouts.

Along with this thought it would also be nice if the callout tag were easier to manipulate as far as what type of label one wants to depict.  For e.g. if one needs to show a leader with the ref. label text along the leader line in lieu of the bubble.  A more dynamic callout tag where its appearance and be manipulated to customize from arrow, dot, etc.

For Callouts it is often needed to view the border outline different from the true crop size of the callout view. For example detail items which are put into the callout enlarge the original size of the view. In most cases though it's not wanted to also expand the border outline of the callout on the referenced view. A functionality similar to section views, where the section head and tail can be placed independent from the actual view width, would be useful.

This is so needed!!!!  Please!!!  Something similar to the annotation crop lines, where they can be different than the actual crop lines.

Also, the lines that show up for the crop region should be independent on every side and be able to go inside or outside.  So this in the view....

could actually have a crop region in the callout view that is completely different... (red, or blue, or green, or purple).

Hi, You can do this by ticking "reference other view" before you start drawing the callout. it creates a blank callout, and you can then connect it to another view manually

@anna.w5CM38, that doesn't help the original callout though.  Unless you're saying to create the callout, then hide that in all views then create referenced views in the all the views you'd like to see it in.  That is just additional work that with this idea would not be needed.  I'm hoping you can see the benefit of having this idea enabled so that we wouldn't need to go to all that work to do that.
