Shortcut for turning on / turning off the Section Box
We have a keyboard shortcut for Section Box : BX. But it doesn't work for turning off the Section Box. It would be very useful to me to select an object, then Section Box it, edit the object, then turn off the Section box, select another object, Section Box it, and so on. Reusing the same view would save a lot of time.
I would like a visibility button for the section box command to turn on or off the box in a view added to the bar at the bottom of screen near the Crop Region button.
Currently the only option is to turn the box on or off in the Extents section of the Properties Dialogue. I want it on but not visible.
I use it for plumbing stacks in a building, showing a 3D view of the stack. To turn the visibility on or off I have to go into VG/Annotations and scroll down to Section Box and pick. Very cumbersome to do when you are producing many views.
This is a great idea. I'd love it to be in the View Properties palette in Extents next to Crop View, Crop Region Visible, Section Box, "Section Region Visible". (just to make it match).
I've never used the crop view buttons on the View Control Bar, weirdly enough. I use it primarily for temporary overrides and temporary view templates. But I'm certainly not opposed to it being in the VCB.

You can toggle the section box off and on with a keyboard shorcut. You must be using the (FREE) COINS Auto-Section Box plug in to use this feature though, as far as I know.
1. Once you have installed and are using the COINS app you'll want to set up a keyboard shortcut for the auto-section box of course.
2. To set up the shortcut for turning the section box on and off, in your keyboard shortcuts search "toggle".
3. See below; find the Toggle for Add-Ins>COINS Section Box and create your shortcut. Mine is SR for "section release". This allows you to turn the box on and off in your 3D view. Hope this helps.
The COINS add-in works well. Now, we need a shortcut for turning on/off scope boxes in our 3D view settings without having to go into visibility settings each time.
To add to this, it would be nice when re-activating the section box, to have the option of either using the prior setting, or resetting it entirely (which is currently the default)
A hotkey for section box is 'BX' or 'SB', depending on what version of Revit you're using. Select an object you want to isolate in a section box, and hit that hotkey. Super helpful.
@revitPWC6K : You can hide it in V/G -> Annotation Categories -> Search for : section , then uncheck Section and Section Box. I would very much like a shortcut for filtering and hiding Section Lines and Section Tags
As wish states a quick on/off button for 3D section box perhaps in the view control bar and only visible when in 3D view. This would be time saver, rather than going into visibility graphics each time to turn on/off
