Beam System - modify Elevation of Start and End

Beam System - modify Elevation of Start and End

I would like to be able to modify the start and end elevation of beam system, not only the "global system elevation".

It's common to have a beam system that span from a beam  that have joists sitting on it (elevation -100) to an other that has not (elevation 0).

I can modify the beam elevation of every beam in the system. But it's long to do and I lose the "automatic level adjustment" (in case of later changes) by doing this.

Actually, I can edit the level of the whole system. But it would greatly help if I could also determine the level of the start and the end of the sytem.

I have attached a file to help visualise.

Maybe you could create a sloped reference plane and align that beam system to that plane.

Hi @Evalucia

I think the beams and beam systems already behave as intended. Please try to use the "z-Offset" parameter to offset the beam for the depth you need in order to support steel joists sitting on top of it.

To illustrate, please see the attached PDF.Capture.PNG

Hi @sdijanovic

Thank you for your answer. I tried it today and it work just right.

It would have been more intuitive for me if it was in the properties of the "beam system", but now that I know the right way, I don't have to bother about it anymore so it's really nice !

Have a nice day!

Is there a way to do this for the whole beam system??

1. Yes, I can offset each beam of the beam system via z-offset, but then I have to do it for each one

2. It seems like there was an option to change elevation of beam system at one point, don't see it any longer

3. I also don't see the disassociate from plane option?
