Batch Print from Multiple Files
Add the ability to print sets from multiple Revit files at once without opening them (or even with opening them). We often need this when working with linked files where setting up all the sheets in one file is not feasible (multiple buildings, multiple unit types, etc.).
Like Autocad, it would be nice to be able to print without opening a Revit File, but i suggest to further and adding exporting to dwg along with pdf printing.
We work on a lot of "campus" projects, whether school or business complexes. Many of our clients prefer to break up the individual buildings into separate models. It becomes very painful printing for submittals. Batch print for multiple models would be awesome.
This would be incredible. I just google searched for any solutions and found this thread. I'm on a project where were juggling 13 models, but its in the same sheet set. Its an absolute ball and chain to make a PDF set for each model individually then combine them. I really hope you guys figure something out for this.
Autodesk should create a Revit master file which would allow all sheets created in separate Revit files to be linked into the master file. From the Revit master file the various sheets could be selected and printed. All revision clouds and revision text would also operate seamlessly through the link. While they are at it Autodesk could unlock file naming conventions for PDF prints using parameters which read the revision status of the sheet and various other sheet and project information specific parameters (like a few third party apps do). This would be a massive time saver.
This is a great idea that has many parallel suggestions like the ability to reference details/sheets in linked files, allowing you to print from one file. This is all I would want for Christmas!
Since I post in tis I have done a lot of search and found the RTV Tools that is an add-on in Revit and does have till RVT2022. This add-on can do batch printing from multiple Revit models, that are on your HDD, BIM360, Revit server, BOX drive etc. You can set a filter to print exactly what you want from all the models that you want to print, also export the schedules to excel. You can also set it to print at any given time when schedule the printing.
Come up with a way to allow user to Publish or Plot Sheets. And still be able to work on there model.
I may be unique on this but the company I work at we routinely have to publish/plot more than 100 sheets.
When doing this user is waiting for this process to finish before they can work on the project again.
Please create feature that would either allow publish/plot to happen outside of Revit or allow user to be able to continue working in model while this process is happening.
Using term publish may be slightly confusing. I am not referring to publishing the model to BIM 360 through the manage models. This already works.
I am referring to the process of Publishing all of my sheets to PDF or to a Plotter.
Being able to do anything in the background while still being able to work would be a great benefit. Plot PDF's, any exports really, anything time consuming that shouldn't necessarily need to halt the work.
