The Concept: When a user changes a View’s Family Type (e.g., changing a "Working Plan" to a "Construction Plan"), Revit should provide an option to automatically update the assigned View Template to match the "Template assigned to new views" defined in that Type’s properties.
The Workflow:
User selects a view and changes the Type in the Properties Palette.
A dialog or background logic detects that the new Type has a different default View Template.
Revit prompts: "Would you like to apply and assign the default View Template for this Type?" (with a "Do not show again" checkbox).
Why it’s needed: Currently, changing a View Type is a two-step process: you change the Type, then you have to manually find and assign the correct View Template. If you forget the second step, you have a view that says it's a "Construction Plan" but looks like a "Working Plan." This feature would bridge the gap between View Types and View Templates, making them truly work as a single "Style" system.
