AUTODESK SUPPORTING INTERIOR DESIGN

AUTODESK SUPPORTING INTERIOR DESIGN

I am so sick of the work arounds required to do my job in Revit. I want to be able to tag walls by paint color, have real solution for tile wainscotting, AND BE ABLE TO MAKE MY OWN FURNITURE. Yes I know about massing and nesting families. What I don't know is why Revit makes it almost impossible for me to model a realistic sofa. The fact that there are still so little good Revit furniture families after your software has been out for almost 10 years is a testament to how terrible the process is. Are you being paid by content creators not to figure out a better way?  The fact that your forum categories have "architecture, MEP, and Structure" tells your just where interior design falls on your priorities. But guess what. Interior Design is what sells the design to clients. No interior rendering is going to look complete without furniture and lights. Come on Revit.

Agree, waiting for the "Design" tab on the Revit Ribbon for years.

Absolutely. We have very similar frustrations on the architectural lighting design side. Revit wasn't built for us and we have to spend a lot of time figuring out crazy workarounds to model our fixtures.

I wish sketching in Revit would be just as easy and natural as in Trimble SketchUp.

+1. I current have to make families for our interior group and its very difficult, especially for more complicated furniture.

How is this still an issue?! I teach Revit for Interior Designers at a university and it's disappointing that I need to tell my students Revit isn't made for them.

*We also want to be able to complete furniture, art, and signage packages in Revit so the client can ultimately receive one deliverable.
