Audit Always

Audit Always

The Audit option on opening Revit project file is useful. It was several times when it fixed the file which I couldn't open. Currently all our users are suggested to activate the Audit option on every Revit file opening. Although Revit warns that the Audit takes long time I didn't notice that file opening is longer than without the option.

Please let the Audit process running for every file. And then the Audit option can be removed from the Open File dialog box, making it simpler.

Perhaps an option to this could be to keep the audit button, but have an option in the Revit options that would allow you to set the default.  That way if the default was set to Audit on, then when opening a file from the recent files list, it would automatically audit the file.

In my experience, the extra time added by the "audit" function while opening is always less than the human time that I spend navigating to the "audit" checkbox (because it's not available from the recent files screen).  "Always audit" theoretically slows down my opening operation, but the extra few seconds are not that significant in my workday IMO.  I only open a new file maybe 15 times each day at maximum (usually closer to 3-6).
