Annotative and Detail Elements in Design Options

Annotative and Detail Elements in Design Options

Annotative and detail elements are not currently able to be associated or a part of design options.  During the design phase we frequently have the need to plot different design schemes/options and switching the primary option removes annotative elements requiring time to go back and reannotate prior to plotting.  It would be advantageous to have the ability for equipment, pipe, and duct tags, etc. to be associated with a design option that would allow designers to easily switch the primary option and plot drawings without having to reannotate elements.

Make different views and sheets for the various design options. That is the intended workflow. You shouldn't be regularly switching the design phases of a view.

I could see this workflow working, but would question sheet names/numbers since you cannot have multiple sheets with the same sheet number.  I would counter the workflow intention by asking Autodesk to allow for sheets to be associated with design options so that the primary option version of the sheet view is always plotted with the set.

Why would you want to use the same sheet name or number though? Its a different sheet with different views. The names and numbers should signify that.
