Annotation Crop Default = OFF

Annotation Crop Default = OFF

Personally, I hate the Annotation Crop.  In my opinion we only ever need it for Dependent Views.   If anyone can tell me other uses for it, I'd be happy to hear.  But my biggest peeve is that when you create a callout it automatically has Annotation Crop turned on...  why?  There is no need for it.   The view isn't capturing the annotation from the parent view anyway...  so why?

Make this default to OFF.  Or at least give us that option to set that somewhere.  Thank you.

Agreed, this should be off by default (as it is for creating every other type of view), or there needs to be an option for user control over setting the default behaviour. 99% of the time we want the annotation crop off, it's irritating.

I wish it was the same for crop region boundaries as well - either remember the previous setting and apply it to newly created views or give a global default setting (or a setting by view type may be even better). We (my offices) don't want these things on, we have them set to not print anyways.

And while we're at it - stop automatically turning the crop region back on when a scope box is applied. You already made me manually turn the thing off, now because I want to put a scope box I have to go and turn it back off for a second time.

I agree.  Annotation crop is especially annoying because of how it handles pasted annotation elements (often sheet notes get pasted between views).  Also, I prefer to mark up sheets in Revit, so no one has to look at a pdf (and ACC markups don't have a way of tracking completed markups).  However, long text is always a problem.

Starting a view with no crop region visible and no annotation crop on would speed up sheet setup

A setting (ideally in the view template) could allow any firms that do use it regularly to turn it back on.
