Analytical Elements

Analytical Elements

If you have two analytical panels that have a common edge (there is no gap between them), and if you move one panel trying to create a gap between them, the moved panel drags the other panel and lengthens its dimension. This behavior is the same for analytical members also. This behavior is not friendly if you try to copy an element right next to the other, then move one of them to create a gap between them.

We should have an option to choose if we want to drag the other connected analytical element if one of them is moved!

I need this!

this feature is currently quite annoying, if you for example move one of bottom points of the wall, top nodes of any connected analytical member(column) move as well. In general editing of nodes offers several editing posibilities, but in practical use, it is easier copy panel or member or adjust the boundaries of analytical panel instead of trying to edit by nodes

Maybe something similar to 'Disallow join" could be of help.

Hi,

Improving the analytical elements adjustments is in our attention.

What I noticed from the feedback we received so far, there are more than one situations. Therefore, each may need a different approach.

Revit 2026.3 brings a new capability - lock analytical model elements using pins - https://help.autodesk.com/view/RVT/2026/ENU/?guid=GUID-80ADB386-84DF-4FC2-990E-90B4001B47F4

Check the public roadmap to see few more improvements we plan - https://www.autodesk.com/customer-value/aec/revit

Thank you for your feedback!

I’d love to hear your thoughts and whether you see it impacting your workflow!
