Allow the creation of revision sets

Allow the creation of revision sets

In the UK its industry standard to use complex revision letters, we never use revisions such as A, B, C or 1, 2 ,3.

We always prefix the revision with a letter to denote the project stage i.e. Preliminary, Tender, Construction, which gives revisions such as:

P01, P02, P03, T01, T02, C01, C02, C03 etc

The Revision Tool in Revit should be able to handle these types of revision codes as well as simple A, B, C codes.

@Anonymous   No, still not fixed. Neither has vertical cable trunking or invert dimensions to the bottom of ductwork. It's only been a few years but I'm sure they'll get around to it one day!

It would be great if we could have multiple revision sequences with custom prefixes for each to enable us to have something along the lines of P1, P2, P3,...., T1, T2, T3,...., C1, C2, C3 etc. on the same drawing. Also, a way to add or remove a revision from multiple sheets in one go, without having to delete it.

Not having multiple revision sequences means we can't use the Revit revisions, we have to add manually as text because our company standard is to have the project status as part of the revision reference the same as this post (P1, P2,...  T1, T2,...  C1, C2,... etc).

Maybe possible to add a phase or project status parameter/column to the revision schedule? or maybe to freeze the revisions and start a fresh set of revisions when there is a change in phase or status.

This work around is the best I have found !

Congrats! We think this is a great idea, so we've decided to add it to our roadmap. Thanks for the suggestion!

Great implemented for 2022, I have 2019, 2020, 2021 what about them. These complex projects go on for 2-3 years or more. Are you going to do hot fixes for previous versions, particularly after Autodesk at last has admitted the revision system worked incorrectly. I have various projects which some drawings are on approval, construction and as built all at the same time. The only way is to do the as built drawing revisions with text overlays over the construction Revit revision text.

When are you going to do this, I certainly won't hold my breath as the existing implementation from 2015 to 2022, REALLY !!

Very disappointing and abysmal response.

I think we can safely assume the answer to that is 'no'... I'm unsure though why you think the lack of functionality is the same as saying it worked incorrectly...

Not quite sure what you expect to be honest - the functionality has been implemented, and everyone is at liberty to update their models to the latest version (with the agreement of the rest of the team obviously) but updates like this have never been pushed back to previous versions of any software that I'm aware of...   Time to move on I think...  ;o)

This is not fixed, revision schedules still don't provide necessary functionality for tracking groups of revisions.

@andre.baros ,

The original Idea that was posted has been Implemented. What you are asking is additional functionality that should be suggested in a separate Revit Idea.

Thank you!

@andre.baros

Not quite sure what you are looking for but maybe check out the new Revit Roadmap - there is a new feature planned in terms of scheduling revisions which might be what you are after it's hard to tell.  YOu can find it here : https://blogs.autodesk.com/revit/roadmap/

If you create a new idea, please add a link here so that others can find it, review and vote.
