Allow Scope Box to snap the elements, also with offset.

Hi Autodesk,

It's good to let the Scope Box to snap elements. So that we can draw the scope box neat & tidy.

Also include the offset option, same like rectangle command.

So, If we have all these options, we can draw the scope box very quickly.

Truly agree. An important improvement to increase quality and time savings.

I would prefer to create Scopeboxes with an array. Perhaps in a separate dialog box with parameters like; length, width, number of Scopeboxes in x and y, offset in x and y, angle of the array, coordinates of array starting point.

This would be very helpful in projects with a large extent in the horizontal plane, such as airports.

Yes, it could be a better idea as well.

There are a few ideas already in this forum which ask for snapping on scope boxes.

Definitely needed...

@kimberly_fuhrman-jones, please merge together this idea with https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-ideas/scope-box-extents-better-control/idi-p/9064240, or vise versa which ever makes the most sense to you.

現場の規模によって、図面を分割して作成する必要があります。

分割図の作成にスコープボックスを活用する時があるのですが、スナップが効かないので範囲調整が難しいです。

是非スナップが効くようにしていただきたいです。
よろしくお願いいたします。

Description:
I would like to request better control for editing Scope Boxes in Revit, especially by allowing them to snap to elements.

In large-scale projects, drawings often need to be divided into multiple areas. Scope Boxes are useful for managing these divided plan views, but it is currently difficult to adjust their extents accurately because snapping does not work when editing Scope Boxes.

For example, when creating divided drawings, users may want to align Scope Box boundaries precisely with grids, reference planes, walls, model lines, or other elements. However, without snapping or alignment control, the boundary must be adjusted manually, which can be time-consuming and inaccurate.

Request:
Please allow Scope Boxes to snap to elements when editing their extents.
It would also be helpful if Scope Boxes could be aligned to elements using the Align tool.

This would make it much easier to create accurate divided drawings and manage drawing areas in large projects.

This request was originally posted in the Revit Ideas Japanese Forum. Since this is an important request from Japanese Revit users and was evaluated by the Revit User Group in 2025, I am reposting it here for broader visibility.
