Allow Room/Space name parameters to be added to user-defined Families

To whom this may concern,

I'd like to suggest allowing end users the ability to pull name (and number) data from the Room System Family into user-defined Families via the Family Editor's parameter menu.  In my opinion, this would provide another desirable level of the seamless coordination REVIT is already well known for.  I deal with a decent amount of custom-built families in my work, and the more I change things around in current versions of REVIT, the more I inevitably need to review each schedule of my equipment lists for the correct location.

I'd imagine this sort of access to parameters within System Families across the board would be a welcome addition for many trades and work beyond my own as well.

Thank you for your time.

Electrical equipment has a system parameter called "location" that reads the room/space name and number it is placed in even if its in a link. Can this functionality be expanded to all component families with option to choose if rooms or spaces are used and from the host or linked model? Trying to hack spaces for use outside of HVAC loads never works practically unless each discipline is in a separate model and is duplicating scope of work.

Is this idea different from the Room Calculation point in Family Category and Parameters?

@croundy5QGYD  the room calculation point just determines the intersection point to determine which room/space you want to use.

I would like to be able to associate parameters of a room, like its number, name, or anything really, to a user-built family. The main purpose for this currently would be to associate a rooms name and number with a user-built sign family. We can do this in a schedule, but can't actually drive a text parameter in a sign family to make it show correctly.

This can of course be done with Dynamo, and there may be some add-ins that can do it, but it would be great to do this natively so it updates as soon as a change is made. I'm sure this concept could be applied to many other workflows as well.
