You'd be hard pressed to find something more infuriating in all of computing than working with Revit Panel Schedule Templates.
This could easily be remedied if Revit would allow Templates to be exported into some format that could be editted separately from Revit's horrible Panel Schedule Template Editor. If it came out as CSV or some other non-binary text format we could at least make it do what we want.
Also this would allow the export and import of these without using Transfer Project Standards, which is like using a sledgehammer to drive a tack. See also the problem of duplicates which I reference in this Idea: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-ideas/add-option-to-transfer-project-standards-to-eliminate-ite...
This same feature could really help with lots of other things like text styles, line styles, wire settings, etc. Allowing a dump to a simple text file or CSV would make Revit so much more usable.
In general Revit could really benefit from opening up its file formats and metadata to promote interoperability with other tools.
