Somehow I never realized you cannot make a new reference plane in a 3D view. Well that is the idea. Ungrey the createreferenceplane tool in 3D views. Found this in Revit 2025.4.
Yes showing them in 3D would be good, as well, but after all you can model things like ducts, pipework or beams in a floor plan only to be greeted by a revit warning stating that none of the elements you just made were visible in the view they were made in. The same could be done with ref planes in a 3D view - especially if there already is a 3D face as a guide for your new reference plane. Even more so - if you would otherwise have to figure out a way to make an appropriate 2D view to setup your rplane.
