All Annotation tags to have the same smart features and behave like Model Text

My team and I have a hard time dealing with annotation tags that are in different view scales.

Right now our workflow consists of having different size room/electrical tags for different size views that go on sheets depending on the building size and disciplines.

For example, one of the multi-story buildings I help to keep updated consists of 2 large areas. Therefore, we split the building into 2 sheets per area or sometimes display the whole floor in one sheet. Each area fits in a 30"x42" sheet template using a 1/4"=1'-0" view scale and each floor may fit on a 30"x42" sheet if we make the view scale 1/16"=1'-0".

To summarize:

My team and I would love to have a "Model Tag" that would combine the smart features of anno tags like, Room metric/category Identity parameters, but to also have the same behavior of a model text in different views and view scales. This would eliminate the tedious work of creating many different tag size types and manually populating in various views that have different scales.

I understand your concern in that the text looks bigger in the 1/16 scale. However if you placed both views side by side on a sheet you would see the text is the exact same size. This keeps text heights uniform when placed on a sheet, which is nice for the general presentation of the drawing.

If you have the text heights the same in a view when when it comes to placing on a sheet and you placed the views side by side your 1/16 view would show the text significantly smaller.

You're absolutely correct about keeping the text size uniform, however, in most cases, the text heights have to change according to the view scale, or else it will not fit in certain smaller areas. Whereas if you use a model text it will automatically change the text linearly across different view scales similar to how it works in AutoCAD with annotative text.

So you want to be setting text heights manually in each scale view? I would think it would be easier to just have a smaller size text/tag (like 1/16" Arial instead of 1/8" Arial) to be used on your overall plans. That seems too small for me (we limit text/tags on overall plans), but I could see the need for it. Also, I would think that you wouldn't want to show ALL the room details in the overall plan, so you'd probably need different tags anyway...

The fact that you've named your Text Style 9" Arial tells me that you're coming from an AutoCAD environment and you're trying to force Revit to work like AutoCAD. In Revit that name is only appropriate for one scale. A native Revit Tag would be typically be named something like 3/32" Arial

It's not that difficult in Revit to simply Tag All Not Tagged in a View and place the appropriate sized Tags on every element (Rooms in your example) in the View.

Or, if you already have a View with Tags that are too big, select one, then "Select All Instances in View" and change the Tag Type.
