Additonal Wall layers needed

Additonal Wall layers needed

It would be great to have additional flexibility with walls.

It doesn't seem right that i have to class brickwork as finish (4) so the wall intersect correctly. I want the cavity Brickwork to remain inside the core so i can isolate & hide non core layers like the plasterboard or render for Engineering DWG export. Cavity Brick Retaining walls have the same issue. It an intersecting single brick wall connects, I need to class the bricks as finish (4) aswell for the joint to work properly.

PROPOSE Layer 0 or something similar for cavities. Thermal at (3) is the issue here and corrupts the wall.

NB 10+ years using Revit, I try to do things that reflect real world usage/outcomes. Workarounds are great but are not good longterm or for IFC files

@wr.marshall  thanks for mentioning my idea.

Only thing i wanted to note is that in my opinion it would be more usefull to do it via a material property (the idea i posted) then via wall layers.

With materials you could set up the materials once and use them multiple times, when this is
done via the wall layer menu this would not be possible.

This is actually a great idea if the materials can join to their own match.

Seems so easy without looking at the programming code!
