Add Cladding feature to Revit, or Interoperability between Advance Steel cladding to Revit.

Please add a Cladding feature to Revit, or Interoperability between Advance Steel cladding to Revit.

When using Revit for multi-disciplinary projects, we typically often make use Advance Steel to accurately model the steel elements, for quantification and detailed structural documentation (not fabrication). This includes the roof and wall cladding, especially to create a detailed 3D model for presentation purposes.

Advance Steel currently has a very useful cladding tool, which is defined by a cladding polyline contour and takes sloping cuts, overlaps, etc. into account. Unfortunately, the modeled cladding cannot be imported to Revit using the Advance Steel addon as Revit does not have a cladding feature, or relevant mapping tools to import the cladding profile and positions.

In addition, the cladding feature should include the ability to create curved roofs/walls and/or steel plate coverings (flashing plates) at the corners or edges where cladding planes meet.

I have used curtain walls in the past to do this but I agree we really need a dedicated tool, or even better, a wall type that has a true cladding attached.

Below are some examples of cladding that I have created in the past using curtain walls, but they were never designed for this purpose.
