Ability to Dimension Placement of Generic Annotations

Simple ask. When you create a detail family and nest a generic annotation family inside the detail family, it would be great to be able to parametrically control placement of the generic annotation text so that I can flex the entire family from within the detail family.

You can do this. You can dimension to the ref planes in the nested generic annotation family and add a parameter.

The text circled in red is a nested generic annotation in a detail family.

@Mike.FORM Thanks! This doesn't work for me, and for the life of me, I can't figure it out. Just to clarify, I am trying to dimension three tag labels inside the generic annotation family. When I try either the dimension or the align command, nothing seems to be able to select the tag label.

All three of those labels can be in the same generic annotation family and control which one is visible with a visibility instance parameter.

Load it into your detail item family and control the location there by dimensioning to the ref planes in the nested annotation family.

You cannot dimension directly to the label.
