Void Mass

One of those things that should be simple but revit doesn't allow.

I have a void mass that I want to thin out.

I select the mass but if I isolate and deselect, then I can't select it again until I get out of isolate.

Also why when edit my mass, is it still invisible until I select it again. ****ing annoying. This means I can't align the faces of the void mass.

I just want to make my mass thinner.  I have no way of knowing how my mass relates to the extrusion it is being generated by.  Why is extrusion another sub-level command in of itself anyway, just let me modify my masses.   If I want to change its depth I never know relative to what as the mass and the plane it's relative to are not both shown at the same time.

If I want to adjust the plane, I can't because the mass is cutting out of an object and adjusting its plane moves it out of the object.

If I look at my mass from the side to try and change it's depth, no dimensions show up, but I can't add dimensions either, so I have to resort to just pulling and pushing faces until I get what I want.

Honestly after looking at all the issues, I realize this is just **** UI. **** you Autodesk, **** you revit.

****?

BTW: That was an asterisk, asterisk, asterisk, asterisk, followed by a question mark.  So, basically what I'm asking is what those 4 asterisks mean.

Maybe you could post a file for us to look at?
