I am very simply trying to tag plumbing fixtures within a family we created which consists of a mixer, basin and mirror. Can someone very basically explain to me how to edit the family as to allow me to tag the separate element (which is nested in the family), so that I do not have to create them as separate elements in the drawing.
I would appreciate if someone could show me to a video link or to a forum answer.
I have tried making the seperate elements by ticking the "shared" box in Family category and parameters.
If I make these elements shared, how will this affect my model?
Thanks in advance.
Yes, making the nested parts share will allow you to tag/schedule them separately. You will see that when you load the model with the shared nested elements that they will show in the project browser as a separate family
For example in above sceenshot a have single family, the glass sink. In the family I loaded a tap family. While editing this tap family I ticked the shared box before laoding it into the sink family.
When loading the sink family then automatically the tap family will also show up in the project browser. However they will behave as a single family (e.g. sink moves, than tap moves), It is now possible to tag both elements.

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.
What if the sink family "Shared" box is already checked and you still can't tag the faucet individually?
Thanks!
