Hello everyone, We received an invoice from a drywall contractor and noticed significant differences between their quantities and those calculated in Revit. After checking each wall individually, we found that the contractor’s measurements matched the dimensions required for our quantity takeoff. In our model, Revit appears to measure certain walls between the centre lines of the adjoining walls, whereas our required measurement extends to their outer faces. For example, where a wall connects to perpendicular walls at both ends, its reported length appears to run between the centre lines of those walls rather than their outer faces. This also seems to affect the calculated wall area. I tried adjusting the wall location line. The result didn’t change. How can we obtain wall lengths and areas that match the required measurement method?   Thank you for your help. Show More

Show More

Hi everyone,   I work in the packaging industry with Buy Packaging Boxes, and I'm interested in how CAD designers handle folding carton dimensions.   One common challenge in packaging design is making sure the flat dieline folds into the correct finished box size. Board thickness and crease positions can make a difference, particularly with tuck-end cartons.   When preparing packaging dielines in AutoCAD, do you account for board thickness during the initial drawing stage or make adjustments after testing a physical sample?   I'd be interested to hear how others approach this.   Thanks!
