objects outside of view range still visible

Can someone explain why ANYTHING outside of a given plan view range is visible AT ALL?  I'm on a third floor plan view and walls with bases ABOVE my primary range are visible as though cut in section.  The best reason we can figure out why is because their bases are set relative to the 1st floor working plane, but even if that's the case what sense does it make to have a view range if things outside it can still be visible?

Do you perhaps have a hidden plan region in your view?

@Seychellian  Autodesk cannot abide an unsolved thread.  After a period of time I've yet to determine they just pick a response and make it the solution without the consent of any of the thread's participants.  I know this because it's always happened whenever I solved the problem myself (this thread is one of those) and didn't give myself the win or no solution worked and I gave up on the thread.  I've always assumed this was done by a mod who picked whatever answer looked like the most likely solution but this one seems to have been done by a bot.

My guess is that issue was resolved by deleting and recreating the view -- which is essentially what I suggested to do in that 13 month old, award-winning post.  The view was probably corrupt. Corrupted views do happen in Revit. It's well-documented and I have first-hand experience with them.

I had this problem, and found there was at mismatch between view looking up an view templates setting for underlay looking down.

I know this thread is old, but I found it and maybe this can help others.
