Tagging a Generic Model

On a 'typical floor plan,' I've created a room tag that allows me to manually input room names using shared parameters (text category). This photo illustrates the various room names across the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th floor on a single floor plan.

I am now in the process of creating a signage plan and would like to tag my signage (generic models), but I've found that using shared parameters (text category) only allows me to manually input one of the signage numbers, but the others remain as '?'.

Did you give each Instance a value? Doesn't look like you did.

How do I do that?

Let's see if I understand what you did first.

You added a Label to the Tag -- a Shared Parameter that is the same Shared Parameter used by the Signage Families.  Is this correct?

...let me put it another way. When you select a Signage Family in the Project, does it's Instance Properties show that exact same Parameter Field that you put in the Tag? If so, put something in that Parameter Field for the  Tag to "read".

...If you don't see that Parameter listed under the Signage Properties, you need to add it to the Family directly or through the Project. Easier done through the Family.  Add it and reload the Family.

You need to add the same shared parameters used in the generic tag family to the project parameter list, assigned to Genetic Models category.

Ah! So the Signage didn't have the Parameter for the Tag to "read". Just what I suspected.  Yep, that's a pretty critical peice. Kind of like wheels on a bicycle.
