Missing grids in 3D view - Revit 2019

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out grids don't show up in 3D view?

Please take a look at the attached model!

Regards!

They don't. Only levels show in 3D view for now.

I don’t think there is a way to show grid lines in a 3D view!

To work around this:

Option 1:

  1. Select a model line (I recommend you create a new one so you can change its properties later on if needed)
  2. Trace over the existing grid lines and bubbles.
  3. Use Model Text from the Model tab to place numbers in the grid bubbles.

Then you will be able to see a representation of the grid lines in your 3D view.

Option 2:

This involves dynamo, have a look on this video

Search in YouTube for ''Revit 3D Grid''

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6etYmwLi4o

I hope this helps

Thanks

You can combine the suggestion above with an in place mass if you want to show the grids as true 3D planes.

@Anonymous I see what you are saying!

The best thing I can do for now is to ask you to vote for the existing idea and add your comments there!

Lets hope this will be on its way!:)

Grid lines in 3D sounds like a graphics faux paus.

Rob

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Brilliant idea! Though, a faster method would have made more sense.

Typical Autodesk approach.

First let them buy 3D levels.  Develop 3D grids for the next release.

tumbs down

How is that helpful?

Same reason why anybody would like to see levels or any other annotations in 3D. Are you now working for the a team helpdesk Rob Draw?

Ps  forum is mobile incompatible btw. It sucks. Nothing new.

Do you really need to constantly bash Autodesk in their own forum?

Not helpful at all and annoying at best.
