Hi,
I have inherited some Revit files, all of which have a ground floor and ceiling plan (hence an associated level).
The levels do not show the in elevations (or sections for that matter). It is not a view setting, I have checked this, nor are they hidden by category or element. I have added new levels and these are visible. The levels exist, I just cannot view them or select them.

Any ideas?

Is the level line visible? If so click on a line to highlight it there
should be a check box on either end, and check one of the boxes the level
title should appear.

You say it's not a view setting but under the view's properties is the 'Far Clipping' setting set to 'No Clip'?

do they show in any section or elevation view? If they do you can try
selecting them in a view they are showing in and right click. Then select
"maximize 3d extents". This may bring it back in the other views. After
this is done you can try turning off the crop region of all the views and do
a zoom extents. you might find the levels way away from the model geometry.
You can use the grips to pull them back to where they belong.

Dane,

I believe what you are asking is this:

You can not see any of the Level Lines and Targets in your elevations or sections which were generated by the original creator of the file
you received. When you place new Levels, however, you CAN see the new ones in the elevations and sections.

Try this:

In an elevation view, stretch/adjust the viewport/crop region up and down, and see if the Levels show up.
If not, "uncrop" the view by turning cropping off, and turning crop regions off. Do you now see them?

Then, check and see if there are any Scope Boxes in the model by going to View Properties under Annotation Categories
and turn Scope Boxes on.

Also, under Help, check for "propogate extents"--and read thru that and see if the original Levels need to have their extents propogated
to the views where you can not see them.

I assume it was a typo.

The sentence should have probably read "The levels do not show IN THE
elevations (or sections for that matter.)"

Jeff,

I have to click on each level individually in each view and un-check "maximize 3D extents". I try and select them all that option does not appear on the screen. Is there another way apply this setting by selecting all levels in the view? Thanks.

Hi there,

When i create new levels, they appear in plan views but are not seen in any of the elevation views. Can anybody help me out on this......??

Hi I am currently working on a project and i created a land plot and set each level line to the proper elevation but not all of the level lines appear in every view. In the North view all of the level lines and the walls i have created appear, but the walls don't show up in any of the other views. Also the North, West, and South views show all of the level lines but the East view does not. How can i fix this? Thank you

Open a Section or Elevation that does show the Levels, or create a new Elevation View and turn off Crop View and set Depth Clipping to "No Clip". The Level must actually enter the boundary box for the Section or Elevation in order to show up in it. Go to a perpendicular Elevation View that shows all of the Levels and adjust the ends of the Level lines as required. See image below.

Just adding my two bits too. I had levels set up and assigned a scope box to them. I then created several elevations for my shearwalls, and assigned a template to them. The Levels weren't showing in the elevations. Turning off "Crop View" and then turning it back on worked. (Small bug?) Revit 2015.

Easiest way to select all levels is to left click on a any level in view, then right click go to "select all instances" then "in entire project" left click. Then Right click again on one of the now highlighted levels, then left click on "maximise 3D Extents". This should hopefully solve all level viewing problems.

Do note that as you expand and work on the model and start building in other areas, you may need to do this again to cover the new larger model.

This issue has happened to me before. If I link a Survey and it isn't centered close to the default Elevation Tags in Plan, everything else gets wacky.

If I move the Elevation Tags to fit the Survey location, this causes trouble. But the Survey is located to some marker in "reality".

The solution is as Jeff stated, right click an Elevation Tag and then Zoom To 3D Extents.

If I move the Survey to where in the center of the Elevation Tags, the problem doesn't happen. I just have to Publish Coordinates in this location.

But I'm thinking the best solution is to leave the Survey .dwg alone and move the Tags around.
