How to Cut a Wall from a Mass Window

Hello!

I am having difficulty cutting a wall from the face of a mass. I have windows that are generic model pattern based extrusions, however Revit will not let me cut the window out from the wall.

Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙂

Add a void in the window family , check cut with void when loaded, then use cut geometry in project to cut the wall with the window.

Arrgh! I've been having similar issues lately.  Bummer.

@Viveka_CD: would you know why and what a workaround is?

Are you actually replacing divided surface solid panels in with glazing panels.   If so, I don't see how it could not be "cutting" (e.g.Transparent) .  Unless your panel material isn't transparent. Have you checked that the correct material is applied?

I don't understand what you mean, my apologies. I have attached the file for the pattern based divided surface panels that I am using.

This doesn't help me. Send the Project file.

...I do strongly recommend that you associate the Mullion and Glass Geometry's "Material" Property to Material Parameters in the Family Types dialog box.

I don't see any issues with glass transparency.

If you load it into a project and add a wall by faces the wall does not cut out the window spaces.

Of course it won't. You need separate surfaces for the walls.

Thank you!
