Hello!
I am trying to create a custom fill pattern for my floor tile. I have read up on how to create custom .pat with Notepad and text, but my tile is coming in all wrong.
Can someone give me a cheat code and tell me what I should type in text code in order to create a .pat 6" x 35" tile with a 1/3 offset?
I attached a picture for reference.
Thanks!
Check out Hatch22 from Mertens3d. It used to be free, but now costs about $45 I think.
Works really well--runs inside Revit. Install is a bit tricky, but well documented / instructions.
You draw lines in a drafting view for your custom hatch pattern, select them, open the add-in and it creates the .pat file from the selection.
Then save the .pat file, and create your custom fill pattern.
The attached pattern was generated by the Brick & Tile Wizard contained in HatchKit 2014 for Revit - as shown in the attached screenshot.
You can try HatchKit 2014 for Revit Demonstration Version by downloading from here:

In this example, what do all these numbers mean?
How would you change the dimensions of the tiles?
The numbers are explained in the preamble to the standard text file revit.pat or here:
This blogpost gives a very good overview of how a stretcher bond brick pattern can be defined.
PAT files are text so can be created with a text editor or with the assistance of a fill pattern editor.
