Hello, I just starting using a 2018 version of Revit. When going to change materials thru the object edit and then edit assembly I cannot. It seems as thought something is frozen somewhere. Also, Is there a place I cant edit materials without have to go object edits? I've never had this problem before, am I suppose to upload material? I can see then in my rendered model. Thanks, Chris

To edit materials without editing the object -
Manage>>Material
When you click to edit the Wall materials, do you make it a point to click on the cute little square button with the three dots?
That will take you to the Material Browser.
@adcockcl hello, i had experienced this with my Revit 2018.2 what i did i go to windows control panel > device manager > display adapter > Name of your graphics card (mine is NVIDIA) > right click > properties > driver > update driver (it doesn't matter it will update or not) then close > open again your Revit 2018 version and you will be able to change the materials. hope it helps. thanks

Hey guys,
I've got this issue with Revit 2019 at the moment - I've just gone through and updated the program and my driver as requested above and it still doesn't seem to be working.
Any other ideas??
Not sure will it wok it on you guys but I went to the file-> options -> Graphics and turn off the Hardware Acceleration.
It seems like the Video card could be not supported in my case.
After that I just re-open the project and I can finally change the material.
Cheers
I'm having the same issue and the hardware acceleration change didn't work for me. Anyone have any other suggestions? This is very frustrating....
After trying a few things, I ended up uninstalling all Revit Files, and then installing 2022. I was using 2021. So far it's working again. How bizarre, and incredibly frustrating because I didn't need to waste half a day before a deadline.
Pls I need urgent reply to this at the moment....I have tried several ways but I can't still access the material library....have been using this same version 19 for a while now and this is d first time I will be experiencing this
Thanks
