Brick work on curved wall

In the below image, the red lines would be soldier course and the red field would just be a different color brick to match the soldier course.  Since this is on a curved wall, I can't do split face, and can't do sweeps.  

Is doing this with another layer of wall my only option?

Wall Sweeps will host to curved walls. Curved Walls can be Split.

How did you create your curved wall?

Create Parts from the curved wall, divide parts and change the material.
