Purpose: The ability to import a Revit model Scope boxes into a .RCP file users can then capture area breakdowns with precision as to how to clip the point data and export to .RCS files that are then used within the Revit models. This should be a really simple one (hopefully).   I found myself today registering a single house on a larger scanned site, we had built a folder for the internal scans but also wanted to import a number of scans from the rest of the site for the external data. I know I could have copied the fls files into the folder with the internal scans but this would of corse create duplicated info and waste storage. So i decided to import them from the original external data. As I used a faro to scan this site I need to import fls folfders, unfortunately you can ony select 1 at a time so what should have been a 30 second job took around 10 minutes.   t would be great to be able to just ctrl or shift select multiple folders for import especially for fls folders. I would like to export the positions of the scanner from Recap and be able to import them as viewpoints in AutoCAD, Navisworks and Inventor. OR, when a Recap project is attached in these applications, the scanner positions should be usable. Show More

Many laser scan service providers register point clouds using LFM Register. The raw input are ZFS files and the registered output are ZFC files. Using LFM there is no way to get the registration information back into the ZFS files. Right now the only want to create ReCap project from an LFM dataset is to use the ReCap export (which is limited in it's abilities) or to export regsitered PTX files out of LFM which are very large and uncompressed resulting in large datasets and slow import times into ReCap. We need one, While Autoregister is somewhat unreliable we need a quick way to be able to remove scans from the indexed data set:   I've currently got about 300 scans registered in a project and have found that a whole section of the first floor wing as come in completely on the skew, hence I need to remove around 30 scans and re-register them, at the minute due to the large group it is taking around 5 minutes to remove each one. As there is currently no easy way to multiselect them for removal this is a very tedious process.   Obviously when registering improves this idea will be obsolete but at the minute it is very much needed. I use manual registration and spherical targets. After I have identified 3 or more common targets in adjacent scans, Recap tells it found a match, and then tells "refining registration.." Sometimes the refinement gets confused and arrives at a result significantly off. I suspect that the refinement has an iterative algorithm that does not always converge but occasionally diverges. Sometimes the problem can be solved by removing a few scans from the registration group and re-registering in a different order, but not always.   I suggest a check box "disable refinement" to temporarily disable automatic refinement and get around the problem. I would like to select a point in the point cloud and have ReCap tell me what scans can see that point and then select the RealView I want to open. After the RealView opens I would like it to orientate the RealView towards the point I selected an place a marker in the RealView showing me the point I selected. If the perspective doesn't meet my needs I would like to be able to choose another scan that can see that point. Show More

Dimension annotations do not have names.     This means the only way to search for them is by their value.   But if you already know the value, you wouldn't be searching for it!!     Dimensions should have names.   That way, you can search for it. Show More

When transitioning between view states, all of the properties of the view (View position, Color Mode, Perspective/Ortho) smoothly animate between the View States. The Limit Box, however, does not animate and jumps to its set position at the end of the View State transition. It would be more elegant if the position and orientation of the Limit Box would smoothly animate while transitioning between View States. When going to or from a View State that does not have a Limit Box set, it should transition from the extent of the bounds. Show More
