Problem opening file size more than 15mb in maya 2018

hello 

i have file size is 26 mb, it has .ma formate the file is openign in maya 2014 but its not opening  in maya 2018. i treid all ways to open scene but its not workout.

any help i appreciate

Hi!

This scene requires Mental Ray, so wait for Mental Ray for Maya 2018 to be released, or use Maya 2017 (with MR plug-in) to open the scene.

Hello I manage commented out the MR nodes with a Text Editor,  I was not able to recover the rig but the model seems to be there !

I added a quick Human IK rig to it !  

The only way to fix this is in a text editor but it wont be easy it will take a lot of trial and error but it can be done, or try getting the MR plugin, that might work, although I would change mayas evaluation mode from parallel to DG as this is an old rig !

please find the maya file attached.

I know it does not solve the problem but it is a good start !
