Maya 2022 fatal error crash on open

Maya 2022 lists a litany of errors and then has a fatal error and crashes every time I try to open it on my Mac. The recent update made it actually say "fatal error," where before it would just list errors and crash.

Would you have a stack trace of the crash ? To help identify the incompatibility being triggered

an Autodesk CER report number 

or

an Apple crash report

The crash looks to be related to startup initialization, possibly with new App Home display

you can disable App home to see if it makes a difference

Hi thanks, but how can I disable the app home without Maya opening? Seems like I need to be able to go into the preferences but I can't because it crashes.

Figured out how to set the env variable as a file in the preferences but it did not fix my issue. Any other suggestions? thanks

Most likely the Maya.env file is parsed too late to be recognized

Would need to set before launching Maya

From a terminal window, set the environment variable then launch Maya from the terminal
(use the env var mentioned in the link) I don’t have access at the moment to look it up


export MAYA_…..=1
/Applications/Autodesk/maya2022/Maya.app/Contents/MacOS/Maya
