Next assembly list

All,

We have a title block that lists the "NEXT ASSY" which is the next assembly where a particular weldment, piece part or subassembly would reside. Currently this is a manual input which is often missed or incorrectly inputted by designers/engineers. Does anyone know of illogic code that would capture this Vault information in the .idw environment and self populate this field??

Any help is greatly appreciated!

You mean where used?
where the assembly in the drawing is used in the other assembly?

This is definitely possible with the vault API.
But:
What if the assembly is more times used in another assembly.

If the above situation is correct than I can provide you the code for an add in but not for I-logic.

I think it is hardly not possible with I-logic.

So my advise is start programming your own add in for this.

Thanks for you reply. Yes where used. If it happens to be used else where then that would be listed also. See sample attachment. So we would know all the projects and upper level assemblies it is used. This is very helpful information on our drawings to let the assemblers and receiving dept easily find where these get installed. A code for an add in would be great if you can point me in that direction.

Otherwise I don't have the api available for other versions of vault.

And what version of vault are you using?
